Three steps to write me in.
A write-in only wins if voters know exactly what to do. Here's exactly what to do.
01
Show up — November 3, 2026
Vote at your assigned Licking County polling location, or request your absentee ballot early. Bring valid ID per Ohio requirements.
02
Find the Commissioner race
Scroll the ballot to the Licking County Commissioner contest. Look for the write-in line — usually a blank with a small oval or box next to it.
03
Fill the oval AND write the name
This is the part most write-ins fail on. You must fill in the oval/box next to the write-in line, and write BRIAN BELCHER on that line. If you only do one or the other, the vote may not count.

Common questions
Does spelling matter?
Spell it as clearly as you can — BRIAN BELCHER. Minor variations and missing middle initials are usually accepted, but neat block letters are your friend. Don't add titles like "Mr." — just the name.
Do I have to fill in the oval AND write the name?
Yes. In Ohio, most ballots require both. Skipping the oval is the #1 way write-in votes get tossed.
Can I write you in if I'm voting absentee?
Yes. Same rules: find the write-in line, fill the oval, write BRIAN BELCHER.
Will my vote actually be counted?
Certified write-in candidates have their votes individually tallied. Brian is filing as a certified write-in for Licking County Commissioner, so yes — every properly marked vote counts.
How do I help others write him in?
Tell three people. Share this page. Bring the topic up at work, church, the diner, the gas station. A write-in wins one conversation at a time.
